Taliban banned photography and videography in Ghazni

Taliban’s Minister for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, Khalid Hanafi, has banned photography and videography during his visit to Ghazni province.

This action is in line with the implementation of the new “law” on promoting virtue and preventing vice. Articles 17 and 22 of this law prohibit capturing images of humans and animals.

Previously, the Taliban had also banned painting human faces and drawing animals in various provinces of the country.

These restrictions have raised concerns about the future of visual media in Afghanistan.
