Man Killed Five Members of His Wife’s Family in Khost
Local sources in Khost province say that a man killed five members of his wife’s family in the village of Narizai, Tani district, of the province last night.
The sources say that the man, who is 33 years old, shot and killed his father-in-law, mother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, and a brother-in-law.
The motive for the killings is still unclear.
The Taliban in Khost have confirmed the incident and said that the suspect has been arrested.
The spokesman for the Taliban’s security command in the province said in a statement that the suspect has confessed to the crime.
The killings are a tragedy for the victims’ families and a reminder of the ongoing violence in Afghanistan. The Taliban have promised to bring the perpetrators of such crimes to justice, but it remains to be seen whether they will be able to do so.
