Increasing the presence of ISIS and TTP on the borders of Tajikistan and Afghanistan
Andriy Serdyukov, a senior military official of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), says that the presence of ISIS and Pakistani Tehreek-e-Taliban fighters has increased near Tajikistan’s border with Afghanistan.
Russian TASS news agency quoted Serdyukov as reporting that “international terrorism” and extremist groups, including the Khorasan branch of ISIS and Al-Qaeda, pose a great threat to the countries of Central Asia.
Serdyukov is still worried about the creation of training camps for “terrorist groups” in Afghanistan and said that the presence of foreign fighters has expanded, especially in the north of the country.
