Illegal use of the lands of Turkmenistan by Afghan citizens
The Central Asia Times has reported that Afghan citizens use thousands of square kilometers of Turkmenistan’s land for illegal economic purposes.According to satellite images and Turkmen media reports, these people illegally graze their herds, hunt and collect fruits from wild trees in the border areas of Turkmenistan. These areas are controlled and prohibited, but Afghan citizens freely enter them and raise their herds.According to this media, the border regions of Turkmenistan near the border with Afghanistan have always witnessed fires. Environmental experts say that these fires may be caused by people intentionally burning lawns.Deliberate burning of land used for grazing is a common tool used by farmers around the world to grow plants and use them for their animals. The Taliban have not yet commented on the illegal entry of Afghan citizens into the territory of Turkmenistan and the use of this country’s land for breeding herds.
