American officials predict the fall of the Afghan government after the withdrawal of foreign forces
On the other hand, General Mark Milley, the former head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States Army, has announced that he had proposed to maintain 2,500 American troops in Afghanistan, but this proposal was not accepted.
In this regard, he stated: “I had made this offer, but who did not accept my offer is beyond my legal jurisdiction.
“Milli stated that he predicted that the Afghan government would fall and added: “We could not build a government and this is a strategic failure of ours.
“Also, General Frank McKenzie, the former head of the Central Command of the US Army (CENTCOM) has also stated in the same meeting that the collapse of the Afghan government has messed up the withdrawal plans. He has stated that the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan and the deaths of American soldiers were the result of wrong policies from Washington, not from the military.
These statements were made while the American war in Afghanistan has ended in failure after 20 years and Joe Biden, the president of this country, has defended his decision to withdraw from Afghanistan.
