The son of the leader of the Islamic Party of Afghanistan, Habib al-Rahman Hekmatyar, has denied that his house was besieged by the Taliban in Kabul.

According to Hekmatyar, his father Golbedin Hekmatyar, who used to live in a house that was given to him by the previous government after the peace agreement, has changed his place of residence.

Hekmatyar stated that after a period of negotiations with the authorities, the peace agreement with the previous government was not acceptable to the Taliban and that is why this action was taken.

Before this, there were reports on social networks that the Taliban had surrounded Hekmatyar’s house, but Hekmatyar denied this claim.

Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, who had criticized the Taliban’s policy of banning girls’ education about a month ago, now wants them to leave the Afghan people free to choose their political system.

Bilal Sarwari, a former journalist, says that the differences between Hekmatyar and the leadership of the Taliban go back to the differences between the group and organization of the revolutionary movement of Maulvi Mohammad Nabi Mohammadi and Hekmatyar’s Islamic party.

According to Sarvari, the absent leader of the Taliban had even said to tie Golbedin in the back of the car and bring him to court, and in another tape attributed to Molahbatullah, he also insulted Hekmatyar.

Sarvari, quoting his sources in Kabul, says that Sirajuddin Haqqani bought a house for Hekmatyar in Wazir Akbar Khan. The Taliban have now cut off all concessions. According to him, he does not take a share from Baytalmal.
