Former Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani warned of the serious threat of drought to Afghanistan’s water resources and emphasized the need for systematic and informed planning to manage the country’s water resources.
In his latest podcast titled “Path of Life,” he discussed the natural and human threats facing the country and underscored the importance of planned urban development and water resource control.
Ghani highlighted the increase in groundwater use due to lack of proper planning, resulting in water shortages in cities, especially Kabul.
He stated that the utilization of water resources should be determined based on the country’s geological and climatic conditions.
