Amnesty International’s criticism of the policies of the Taliban in Afghanistan
Amnesty International criticized the Taliban’s cruel policies against Afghan girls
In a report published on Thursday, this organization strongly condemned the policies of the Taliban government in Afghanistan and described it as a “systematic attack on a generation”.
After more than two years of Taliban rule in Afghanistan, Amnesty International considers this country to be on the verge of “irreversible destruction”.
In its report, Amnesty International noted human rights violations by the Taliban, especially women’s rights and the cycle of gender-based violence. This organization claims that the Taliban have started a new round of human rights violations in the last two and a half years and are doing these actions without any fear.
Amnesty International called on the Taliban authorities to end gross human rights violations, including revenge killings, attacks on religious and ethnic minorities, women and girls. This organization has also emphasized on the immediate reopening of schools and universities for girls and has demanded work permits for Afghan women.
Amnesty International has also emphasized the need to establish an investigation procedure to hold the Taliban accountable for human rights violations and war crimes. The organization warned that journalists, activists and human rights defenders, artists, academics, religious and ethnic minorities in Afghanistan are still at risk.
