Washington on High Alert Amidst Potential Iranian Attack

Reports from the United States indicate that Washington is preparing itself for the possibility of an Iranian attack on Israel or American targets in the Middle East.

On Friday, CNN and subsequently Reuters reported, citing US officials, that Washington is in a state of full alert following Israel’s attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria and the anticipation of retaliatory strikes by the Islamic Republic.

A senior US official told CNN that Washington is on high alert and actively preparing for a “significant” Iranian attack within the next week or thereafter

.On Tuesday, April 2nd, the Iranian consulate in Damascus was targeted in an airstrike, resulting in the deaths of seven senior members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, including Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi and his deputy, Brigadier General Mohammad Hadi Hajizadeh.Mohammad Reza Zahedi was a seasoned commander within the Revolutionary Guards, having previously served as the commander of the 14th Imam Hossein Division in Isfahan, the Ground Forces of the IRGC, the Air Force of the IRGC, and as the Deputy Chief of Operations of the entire IRGC.

In response to these events, Washington remains vigilant, heightening its readiness for any potential escalation in tensions with the Islamic Republic in the coming days.
