John Buss is going to Islamabad and Doha with the purpose of talking about Afghanistan

John Buss, Acting Assistant Political Secretary of the US Department of State, said that if he travels to the region, he will visit Qatar and Pakistan.

John Bus is not present in Ax if the purpose of his visit is to talk with Qatari and Pakistani officials about bilateral relations and common regional security interests.

Earlier, the United States Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Acting Assistant Political Secretary of the Ministry will travel to Doha and Islamabad to discuss Afghanistan and the security region.

John Buss previously served as the United States Ambassador to Kabul from 2017 to 2020.The statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United States states that this trip will continue from April 26 (Thor 7) to April 30 (Thor 11).

In this statement, it is stated: “During this trip, John Buss will discuss with senior officials of Qatar and Pakistan and other diplomatic delegations about support for Afghanistan and common security interests in the region.

“This is the first visit of a senior official of the US State Department regarding Afghanistan to the political assistant level of the ministry to the region, after the withdrawal of the United States from Afghanistan.
