Taliban to announce its stance on the third Doha meeting after reviewing the agenda

طالبان پس از بررسی دستور کار، موضع خود را در مورد نشست سوم دوحه اعلام خواهد کرد

In a meeting with Thomas Nicholson, the European Union’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, the Taliban’s Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi announced that the group would declare its stance on the third Doha meeting after reviewing the agenda.

Muttaqi called for “meaningful participation” of the Taliban in this meeting and emphasized that the Taliban’s policy is based on balance and positive interaction with all countries worldwide.

Previously, Taliban officials had stated that they had appointed their representatives for this meeting and were awaiting the agenda. Zaker Jalali, one of the officials of the Taliban’s Foreign Ministry, stressed that after receiving the agenda, the group’s representatives would participate in the main discussions of the third Doha meeting.

The third Doha meeting, hosted by the United Nations, will be held on the 10th and 11th of Saratan.

The Taliban did not attend the previous two Doha meetings, which were held in the presence of special representatives of countries in Afghan affairs. However, the United Nations Secretary-General had said that the Taliban’s absence from the second meeting did not affect the process of the meeting.
