The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) announced that Canada has donated approximately $2.2 million to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund.
Since 2019, Canada has contributed a total of $15.8 million to Afghanistan.
In Hamal, OCHA reported that only six percent of the over $3 billion needed for humanitarian aid in Afghanistan had been secured.
The organization urged the global community to increase efforts to support the Afghan people.
