Abdul Matin Qani: Taliban Calls Human Rights “Nonsense Slogans”

Abdul Matin Qani, spokesman for the Taliban’s Interior Ministry, has described human rights as “nonsense and shameful slogans.”

This statement was released on the anniversary of foreign forces’ withdrawal from Afghanistan. While the Taliban claims to have established “nationwide security,” a UNAMA report indicates that from April 2 to June 30 this year, 25 civilians were killed and 43 injured.

Human rights organizations remain concerned about the restrictions imposed on Afghan women and girls.
