Taliban Commander Defects in Faryab Amid Leadership Shake-up

فرمانده تاجیک‌تبار طالبان در فاریاب از صف این گروه جدا شد

In a significant development, Abdul Qayum Sadaqat, a Tajik Taliban commander, has reportedly defected from the group following his dismissal as the deputy security chief of Faryab province.

Local sources revealed that Sadaqat, who previously led the Taliban intelligence’s rapid reaction unit in Faryab, left the group after being replaced.

This marks the third high-profile Taliban commander to leave or be dismissed in recent days, following the defection of Qari Salahuddin Ayubi, an Uzbek commander, and the removal of Abdul Basir Saberi from the Defense Ministry’s logistics department.
