Taliban Bans Women’s Voices in Public, Amnesty International Reports

سازمان عفو بین‌الملل: طالبان صدای زنان را در اماکن عمومی ممنوع کرد

Amnesty International has reported that the Taliban has now banned women from being heard by other women This new restriction comes as another blow to women’s rights in Afghanistan, following previous bans on women’s presence in public spaces.

The organization stated on their X (formerly Twitter) platform that after prohibiting women from speaking in public places, the Taliban has now forbidden them from reading aloud According to Khaal Hanafi, the Taliban’s Minister of Virtue and Vice, these regulations will be gradually implemented across the country.

Amnesty International emphasizes that Taliban’s restrictions have impacted every aspect of women’s lives in Afghanistan. The organization has called for the immediate lifting of all restrictions on women’s lives, noting that the Taliban considers women’s voice, face, and presence in public spaces as criminal offenses.
