Taliban Spokesman Addresses Media Concerns Over Live Image Ban
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid met with media representatives in Kabul to address growing concerns about restrictions on broadcasting live images. During the Wednesday meeting, he assured that the ban on depicting living creatures would not lead to media shutdowns.
Media officials expressed their apprehension about the prohibition of photographing and broadcasting images of living beings, requesting a review of this decision. Mujahid emphasized the Taliban’s commitment to free media operations within Islamic principles.
The Taliban’s Media Center released a statement confirming Mujahid’s assurance of continued media freedom. However, concerns persist as the Afghanistan Journalists Center reported new restrictions on photography and filming in Nangarhar province.
