Saudi Arabia Executes 101 Foreigners Including Three Afghans in 2024

According to AFP reports on Sunday, November 18, Saudi Arabia has executed 101 foreign nationals in 2024, marking the highest number of foreign executions in recent years. Among those executed were three Afghan citizens, though details about their charges remain undisclosed.

Amnesty International has stated that Saudi Arabia has carried out the highest number of executions in over three decades. The executed individuals this year included citizens from various countries, including Pakistan, Yemen, Syria, Nigeria, Egypt, Afghanistan, and several others.

The executions have raised international concerns about human rights practices in Saudi Arabia. This news comes on the same day another Afghan citizen was reportedly executed in Iran, highlighting the ongoing concerns about capital punishment in the region.
