Graduates from the 13th and 14th courses of the Taliban Interior Ministry’s Police Academy report being dismissed by Taliban commanders after two years of service, with their relatives appointed as replacements.
These officers, who were appointed according to Taliban laws and criteria, claim they were illegally removed from their positions.
Zawia News quote from of its sources that they haven’t received their salaries for three months. He stated: “They appointed people who can only write their names.
Those with high-ranking relatives get appointed, while those without strong connections face demotion and dismissal.”
This situation reveals widespread corruption in Afghanistan’s police appointment process.
The officers believe that documentation and discharge forms have become sources of corruption, with nepotism determining career advancement rather than merit or qualifications within the Taliban’s security apparatus.
