A cooperation protocol was signed between Dr. Abdul Bari Omar, CEO of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, and Murad Artikov, Director General of International Projects at Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Energy.
Based on this protocol, agreements and commitments were made regarding ongoing and planned electricity transmission projects from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan.
Technical meetings between Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat teams and the Turkmen delegation were held over the past two days regarding electricity supply projects to Balamurghab district in Badghis province, Khamab and Qarqin districts in Jowzjan province.
Additionally, agreements were reached on increasing imported electricity levels to Heart province, improving electricity quality, and advancing the 500-kilovolt transmission line project from Turkmenistan to Kabul.
These agreements aim to accelerate ongoing project implementation and strengthen bilateral cooperation in the electricity sector between the two countries. The Taliban delegation traveled to Turkmenistan to extend the electricity import agreement for 2025.
