Sources speaking to CNN News18 have stated that Pakistan’s government, in one of its harshest positions in recent years, has warned the Taliban group that if Islamabad’s conditions are not accepted, they will face an organized campaign for regime change in Afghanistan.

Turkey’s government has conveyed this message to the Taliban leadership, and this threat comes after last month witnessed the most severe border clashes between the two sides since Kabul’s fall in 2021.

Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif warned that if Islamabad’s demands are not met, the situation could deteriorate.

These tensions have escalated following the failure of three rounds of negotiations in Istanbul and Qatar.

Pakistan demands that the Taliban group take action against Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, but Kabul has rejected this request.
