Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid has firmly rejected calls for dialogue with political opposition groups, dismissing the recent “Hamsada-yi” initiative as a conspiracy.

He specifically mentioned figures like Hanif Atmar, stating they have already been “tested” and failed.

Mujahid declared there is no need to offer new opportunities to the old guard, urging them to return as private citizens rather than political negotiators.

This stance has drawn criticism from other opposition figures like Latif Pedram.

Observers link this refusal to the Taliban’s distrust of regional mediation, notably Iran.

Some sources also suggest the hardline foreign policy is influenced by advice from former US envoy Zalmay Khalilzad, who recently visited Kabul.
