CNN reported on Thursday, citing two informed sources, that a US F-35 fighter jet made an emergency landing at a US air base in the Middle East after being hit. It is believed that Iranian air defense fire damaged this stealth fighter. Tim Hawkins, spokesperson for US Central Command, confirmed that this fifth-generation stealth fighter was conducting a combat mission over Iran when it was forced to make an emergency landing.

If confirmed, this would be the first time an F-35 fighter has been damaged by Iranian air defense fire. The US and Israel have repeatedly claimed complete control over Iranian airspace. Over the past 20 days, Iran's air force has not been able to shoot down Israeli or American fighters.

Also last week, a US Air Force KC-135 refueling aircraft crashed in western Iraq, but the cause remains unclear. Since the start of the Iran war on February 28, at least 13 American soldiers have been killed and about 200 others wounded.
