The Afghanistan Cricket Board has officially suspended three prominent Afghan players from all domestic and international matches for four months. This decision comes after their unauthorized participation in a T20 tournament in India.
The penalized athletes include Samiullah Shinwari, Aftab Alam, and Mohammad Shahzad. They competed in the Legends League Cricket without securing the mandatory No Objection Certificate from the national board, which regulates all foreign appearances.
Earlier this year, the board implemented stricter regulations to limit franchise cricket commitments and prioritize the national team. Authorities have also expressed concerns regarding the unofficial status of such leagues and potential corruption risks associated with them.
