Pakistani police officials have confirmed that at least seven people, including two police officers, were killed in an explosion in the Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. A police spokesperson added that 23 others were injured in the tragic incident.
It remains unclear whether the blast was caused by a suicide bomber or explosives planted in a parked cargo vehicle. The victims have been transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, while bomb disposal experts are investigating the nature of the explosion.
According to local media reports, a teenage girl and a woman are among the injured. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, which seemingly targeted traffic police officers on duty.
