China's Ministry of Commerce has implemented export controls on certain chemical substances to several countries, including Afghanistan, to prevent illegal drug production. This decision was coordinated with various government agencies, security forces, and customs authorities.
The restricted list for Afghanistan encompasses 41 different chemical items. Compounds such as ammonium chloride, barium sulfate, and palladium chloride are among the materials now facing strict export limitations and monitoring before they can be shipped to the country.
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce added that since the regulation took effect, exporters of these specific materials must obtain special licenses. These restrictions were established specifically to improve the oversight of chemical exports that could potentially be misused in drug manufacturing.
