The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs announced that Ireland has contributed over three million dollars to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund. This financial support is dedicated to sustaining relief programs and helping vulnerable people across the country.
Ireland previously donated around four million euros to support women, girls, and marginalized communities in Afghanistan. This vital contribution arrives at a time when international organizations are warning about the decreasing purchasing power of ordinary citizens.
The World Food Programme reported that despite a slight drop in the prices of basic food items like wheat and rice, job opportunities remain extremely limited. Food prices are still significantly higher compared to the same period last year.
