The Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization has warned that escalating conflicts in Iran could trigger a massive new wave of refugees. These displaced populations would likely flow from Afghanistan and Pakistan into Central Asia.

Speaking at a defense summit in Moscow, Taalatbek Masadykov highlighted the severe humanitarian risks associated with expanding regional wars. He emphasized that an uncontrollable influx of refugees would pose immense challenges to the security and stability of the Caucasus and Central Asia.

The CSTO has consistently raised alarms regarding security threats originating from unstable neighboring regions. International organizations share these growing concerns, fearing that Middle Eastern instability will worsen the already critical migration crisis affecting people living under the Taliban administration.
