Nasir Ahmad Faiq, the acting head of Afghanistan's mission to the United Nations, stated that achieving lasting peace requires comprehensive and inclusive political dialogues. He emphasized that UNAMA must play a much more active role in facilitating this critical political process.
Speaking at the UNAMA mandate renewal meeting, Faiq highlighted that monopolizing power and excluding various societal groups only deepens existing crises. He passionately called for the meaningful participation of women, youth, religious groups, and civil society actors in the political structure.
The Afghan representative further added that the international community must insist on human rights principles and broad participation. He urged the UN to act as an impartial mediator, paving the way for sustainable, inclusive solutions in Afghanistan.
