Officials from the Taliban government have announced a significant reduction in taxes for individuals and companies across four different sectors. Based on this new policy, the corporate income tax has dropped from twenty percent to ten percent.

The Taliban Finance Minister stated in a press conference that all security, intelligence, and development expenses are funded through these collected taxes. Additionally, taxes for specific income brackets have been exempted, and property transfer taxes have decreased.

Despite these reductions, economic experts warn that a lack of transparency in spending the national budget diminishes public trust. Since taking control, the Taliban have also intensified the strict collection of religious taxes like Ushr.
