Pakistani security officials announced that seven members of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in an intelligence-based operation in the Kharan district of Balochistan province. The operation was conducted on August 16 under the framework of "Azm-e-Istehkam 3."
Pakistani authorities stated the killed individuals were involved in looting, extortion, kidnapping for ransom, targeted killings, and planning suicide attacks in Kharan and surrounding areas. During the operation, a hideout was destroyed and weapons, ammunition, two vehicles, and a motorcycle were seized.
Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, both bordering Afghanistan, are the main areas of armed group activity in Pakistan. Islamabad has repeatedly accused the Taliban government of sheltering TTP fighters, an accusation the Taliban denies.
