Omar Daudzai, the rotating head of the National Assembly for the Salvation of Afghanistan, has called on the United States to leverage its global influence to promote reconciliation, stability, and lasting peace in Afghanistan.
Daudzai, a former Afghan government official, made the remarks in a statement published on the social media platform X, following the recent election results in the United States.
He stated that the greatness of the United States relies not only on its economic prosperity and military power, but fundamentally on the constructive role it chooses to play in establishing global peace.
According to Daudzai, the American democratic framework has demonstrated its capacity for renewal, institutional resilience, and adaptation to the public will despite existing domestic political polarizations.
Addressing historical context, he emphasized that the Afghan population has endured more than four decades of devastating conflict, making the need for enduring peace paramount above all else.
Daudzai concluded that the Afghan people hope Washington uses its diplomatic standing to assist in achieving sustainable peace and political reconciliation in Afghanistan.
