Roza Otunbayeva, head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), has called on donor countries to increase their support for Afghanistan.

She raised this issue during meetings with victims of the deadly earthquake in eastern Afghanistan.

UNAMA announced that without providing aid, vulnerable citizens of this country will not survive the upcoming winter.

Otunbayeva emphasized the vital role of women in delivering aid and asked donors to increase their support as winter approaches.

The head of UNAMA emphasized that the United Nations has requested $139 million to address the needs of earthquake victims in Afghanistan.

Previously, UN-related agencies announced that more than half of Afghanistan’s population needs humanitarian assistance.
