The Taliban group has publicly flogged five people, including three men and two women, in Kapisa province for alleged extramarital relations.

The Taliban’s Supreme Court announced that these individuals were sentenced to six months to one and a half years of imprisonment and 39 lashes.

The punishment was carried out in the first district of Kohistan in Kapisa province in the presence of local officials and residents.

The Taliban considers flogging as part of implementing Sharia law and continues to emphasize it despite opposition from human rights organizations.

Coinciding with this incident, a people’s tribunal to examine Taliban crimes has begun in Madrid, Spain’s capital.

Since regaining control of Afghanistan, this group has punished hundreds of people publicly on various charges.
