Amid statements by Pakistan’s Defense Minister about “confidential” matters in the ceasefire agreement between the Taliban and Pakistan, the Taliban’s Defense Ministry said there are no additional points in this agreement beyond what has been explained.

The ministry stated in a statement that the agreement text completely includes matters such as ceasefire, mutual respect, refraining from attacking each other’s security forces, civilians and facilities.

This reaction came after Pakistan’s Defense Minister described the agreement as “confidential” in a television interview, which sparked widespread reactions among Afghan political figures and civil society members.

Critics inside Afghanistan have demanded the full publication of this agreement text and emphasized that the Afghan people have the right to know what issues were negotiated on their behalf in this agreement.

This agreement was reached through Qatar and Turkey’s mediation, following the intensification of border clashes between Taliban forces and Pakistan’s army in early October. These clashes resulted in casualties and led to the closure of important border crossings, including the Torkham crossing.
