Nasir Ahmad Faiq, Afghanistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations, announced that women and girls in Afghanistan continue to be deprived of their basic rights in education, work and participation in society.
Faiq wrote on X network on Thursday, November 12, that the Taliban group’s failure to form an inclusive and accountable government has caused Afghanistan to become isolated and millions to become impoverished.
He added that Afghanistan’s stability and joining the international system requires a legitimate, inclusive and representative government based on justice, rule of law and the will of the Afghan people.
Faiq further stated that the role of the UN mission in Afghanistan is vital for ensuring peace, stability and monitoring human rights violations.
Afghanistan’s permanent mission to the United Nations stated that it asks the international community to increase humanitarian aid and take coordinated and principled action in support of the Afghan people, especially women and girls.
