The International Committee of the Red Cross announced a $1 million project funded by the Saudi Development Fund to strengthen agriculture and food security in Afghanistan.

This aid is provided through the Afghanistan Humanitarian Trust Fund, managed by the Islamic Development Bank.

The project, implemented in cooperation with the Afghan Red Crescent under Taliban control, supports 761 farming families and provides specialized training on cultivation, pest management, and water management to 63 farmers in eastern, northern, and northeastern regions.

The Red Cross emphasized that agriculture is a vital part of Afghanistan’s economy, and this program aims to assist around 10,000 people amid multiple pressures.
