Former Vice President Amrullah Saleh has alleged that the Taliban received US$85 million in cash from the United States in December 2025 alone.

He claims a chartered flight delivered the latest batch of US$40 million to Kabul Airport on December 17.

Writing on X, Saleh noted that World Bank reports make no mention of these cash deliveries.

He questioned the common ground between the Trump administration and Hibatullah Akhundzada, alluding to “secret annexes” in the Doha deal and suggesting hidden agendas.

The opposition figure warned of “deeper and nastier” dealings unknown to the public. His claims come despite recent hopes expressed by some US Congress members that cash shipments to the Taliban administration would cease .
