A traffic accident in the Ab Kamari district of Badghis province has claimed two lives and left ten others injured.
Local authorities reported that the incident occurred when a van veered off the road and overturned in the “Haft Shahid” area due to difficult driving conditions.
Several of the injured are reported to be in critical condition and have been rushed to nearby medical facilities.
Officials attributed the crash to driver negligence and the poor condition of the road, which are common factors in the frequent traffic mishaps across the country.
Road accidents remain a deadly issue in Afghanistan, often causing high casualties.
The combination of unpaved rural roads, reckless driving, and lack of traffic enforcement continues to make travel dangerous, highlighting the urgent need for infrastructure improvements and road safety awareness.
