Taliban officials in Badakhshan announced that a landslide during gold washing operations in Keshm district has killed three miners. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon in the village of “Gonbad”.
According to the Bakhtar Agency, the collapse of an earth wall caused the fatalities.
Working in unregulated mines continues to pose a deadly threat to laborers in Badakhshan.
Traditional gold mining is common in the region, claiming dozens of lives annually due to similar accidents.
The lack of safety measures remains a major challenge for local miners.
