Local sources confirmed that the body of Syed Jalal, a resident of Panjshir, was found after being detained by Taliban intelligence for two days. Signs of severe torture were visible on the body of the young shopkeeper.
The Taliban had arrested him from his shop in the Khwaja Bughra area of Kabul. His family received his body on Monday; his older brother was reportedly killed in a similar manner a few months ago.
This incident is part of a pattern of detentions and torture of Panjshir residents accused of supporting the resistance. Numerous reports of deaths in Taliban custody have surfaced recently.
