To mark the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, 167 prisoners in the provinces of Badakhshan, Paktia, and Zabul were pardoned and released.
Additionally, the sentences of 218 other detainees across these provinces were reduced, reflecting a gesture of clemency ahead of the holiday.
The move comes as Afghans prepare to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, and families of the freed prisoners welcomed the news with joy.
