The meteorological department of the Taliban government has forecasted heavy rainfall across 33 provinces in Afghanistan for Monday and Tuesday. The authorities have issued a stark warning regarding the high probability of immediate flash floods accompanying the storms.

According to the official statement, the expected rainfall in these vulnerable regions will range from 10 to 50 millimeters. Major provinces, including Kabul, Herat, Balkh, and Nangarhar, are among the areas facing the highest risk of severe flooding.

Officials have strongly urged residents to avoid approaching riverbanks and flood-prone zones. Over the past few weeks, devastating floods have already claimed nearly 100 lives and destroyed thousands of residential homes across the country.
