Pakistani security officials have announced the arrest of sixteen individuals suspected of involvement in terrorist activities. These strategic arrests were carried out during special intelligence operations across five different cities in the Punjab province.
The Counter-Terrorism Department stated that the detained suspects had close operational links with the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan network. They were actively planning to launch coordinated attacks on local police checkpoints before their plots were successfully foiled.
During the targeted raids, security forces confiscated explosive materials, detonators, cash, and relevant organizational documents. Provinces bordering Afghanistan continue to face severe security challenges and persistent militant threats.
