The head of the Russian Business Center in Afghanistan announced that the Taliban government intends to purchase oil products from Russia by signing several new agreements. These contracts are scheduled to be finalized in May during the Russia-Islamic World Economic Forum in Kazan.
Under these upcoming agreements, Russia will supply not only petroleum products but also agricultural goods to the Taliban government. Additionally, reports indicate that a Russian construction company will sign an investment contract to participate in developing infrastructure projects across Afghanistan.
Previously, the Taliban's Minister of Mines had invited Russian corporations to invest in Afghanistan's energy sector, particularly in oil and gas. While Russia remains one of the few nations maintaining close economic ties with the administration, it has not officially recognized the Taliban government.
