The Uzbekistan Railways company announced the successful construction of a thousand-meter side track at the Naibabad station, located along the vital Hairatan to Mazar-e-Sharif railway line in Afghanistan. This strategic infrastructure project is specifically designed to accelerate freight transfers and ease heavy congestion.

The newly added rail line dramatically increases the station's operational capacity, speeding up loading and unloading processes while effectively minimizing frustrating delays. Uzbek authorities noted that Afghanistan plays a tremendously important role in bridging Central Asia with lucrative South Asian markets.

Recently restored and reopened, the expanded Naibabad station is perfectly positioned to become a central hub for moving goods from Russia and China into Pakistan and India. Trade volume along this crucial transit corridor has been steadily increasing between the two nations.
