The World Food Programme has announced that food prices in Afghanistan remain critically high. Meanwhile, employment opportunities for Afghan citizens are severely limited, which has drastically increased the economic pressure on ordinary families.

Recent reports indicate that the price of wheat has surged by twenty one percent compared to last year. Although markets are active, the cost of essential goods remains elevated. Furthermore, the closure of key border crossing routes has significantly increased transportation costs.

Even though there is a slight improvement in access to work, the purchasing power of the people remains remarkably low. The continuous rise in prices has completely neutralized the impact of the meager incomes earned by daily wage laborers.
