The Afghan Embassy in Tajikistan, responding to the murder of a woman by an Afghan citizen in Khujand, emphasized that crimes must be treated individually. The embassy urged Tajik authorities not to attribute the actions of one individual to the entire Afghan migrant community.
In an official letter to Tajikistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Afghan Embassy called the incident deeply unfortunate and stressed the need for fair legal proceedings. The institution also requested better facilitation for mixed families and women waiting to reunite with their relatives in third countries.
These requests follow a recent surge in the deportation of Afghan migrants from Tajikistan due to alleged security concerns and law violations. However, Afghan diplomats highlighted the positive role that legal students and workers play in strengthening bilateral relations.
