The supreme leader of the Taliban government has issued a new decree appointing four senior officials to military and civilian positions. According to this order, changes have been made at the level of provincial governors and police commanders in Kabul and other areas.
In these reassignments, Wali Hamza, the former police chief of Kabul, has been named the new governor of Ghazni. Meanwhile, Abdul Samad Jawid, the former governor of Ghazni, will now serve as Kabul's police commander. New officials were also appointed to the Herat police command and the Al-Badr army corps.
Reports indicate that in recent years, most appointments within the Taliban government have simply involved shuffling existing members between different roles. So far, no individuals from outside their circle, nor any women, have been included in their cabinet.
