The British government has announced that the process of relocating and resettling Afghan citizens will officially conclude by the year 2028. In-country assistance for transferring eligible individuals to third nations has already been strictly halted.

The United Kingdom's Ministry of Defense has instructed applicants to independently travel to a safe third country. This significant decision was made after a thorough review of the costs and risks involved, meaning support will only begin once individuals reach a secondary destination.

Under this new timeline, the British government will steadily phase out the use of temporary accommodation centers. The number of pending applications is expected to drop drastically as the government aims to process remaining cases by next spring.
