Abdul Matin Rahimzai, the newly appointed head of mining in Badakhshan province, has sternly warned local Taliban government forces against interfering in mining operations. During a visit to Shiki district, he firmly ordered armed individuals to know their limits and follow official directives.

These strong warnings follow a significant escalation of tensions over gold mining rights in Badakhshan. According to officials, irresponsible armed groups have illegally seized control of mines in several districts, prompting the administration to declare that unauthorized entities have no right to intervene.

The Taliban government recently dismissed the former mining head amid these ongoing disputes. Local sources report that recent clashes over the control of gold mines have completely halted extraction processes, resulting in two fatalities and at least ten injuries so far.
